Thiếu vitamin D được biết là ảnh hưởng đến sức khỏe trẻ em trên toàn thế giới. Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang tiến hành trên 600 trẻ mầm non và tiểu học suy dinh dưỡng (SDD) và nguy cơ SDD thấp còi tại huyện Lục Yên và Yên Bình, tỉnh Yên Bái nhằm mô tả thực trạng thiếu vitamin D và một số yếu tố liên quan. Kết quả cho thấy, tỷ lệ thiếu vitamin D (nồng độ 25 –hydroxyvitamin D huyết thanh < 50 nmol/L) là 29,2% ở trẻ mầm non và 24,7% ở trẻ tiểu học; Tỷ lệ thiếu vitamin D và vitamin D thấp (25(OH) D từ 50 -74,9 nmol/L) chung ở hai nhóm trẻ tương ứng là 27,0% và 58,3%. Hàm lượng 25(OH)D trung bình là 57,85 nmol/l ở trẻ mầm non và 60,0 nmol/l ở trẻ tiểu học. Phân tích hồi qui tuyến tính đa biến cho dự đoán có yếu tố liên quan giữa mẹ không phải dân tộc Kinh, thứ tự trẻ trong gia đình, tình trạng thiếu kẽm, giới tính nữ với hàm lượng 25(OH)D huyết thanh và hồi qui đa biến logistic cho thấy tình trạng thiếu kẽm và giới tính nữ có liên quan với tỷ lệ thiếu vitamin D. Các can thiệp phòng chống thiếu vitamin D cần có giải pháp lưu ý theo vùng địa lý, thúc đẩy hoạt động ngoài trời cho trẻ, đặc biệt chú trọng với trẻ gái.

Vitamin D defciency is known to affect children worldwide. A cross-sectional study was conducted on six hundred children with stunting and risk of stunting in preschools and primary schools to identify Vitamin D defciency and related factors, in Luc Yen, Yen Binh districts, Yen Bai province. The results showed that the prevalence of Vitamin D defciency (serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration below 50 nmol/L) was 29.2 % among preschool children, and 24.7% among primary school children; the prevalence of vitamin D defciency and vitamin D insufciency (serum 25 (OH)D between 50-74.9 nmol/L) in general in two groups of children were 27.0 % and 58.3 %, respectively. The mean of serum 25(OH)D concentration among preschool children and primary school children was 57.85 nmol/L, and 60.0 nmol/L, respectively. Multivariate linear regression analysis for predictive factors associated to mother is not of Kinh ethnicity, order of the child in the family, zinc defciency, female gender with serum 25(OH)D concentration and multivariate logistic regression showed that zinc defciency and female gender associated with the prevalence of vitamin D defciency. Interventions for preventing vitamin D defciency should include solutions based on geographical region, promoting outdoor activities for children, with a special focus on girls.
