Tóm tắt: Mục tiêu: Xác định tình trạng bệnh lây truyền qua thực phẩm ở sinh viên y khoa trong 2 tuần theo dõi. Đối tượng và phương pháp: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang trên 500 sinh viên năm thứ năm Học viện Quân y nhằm tìm hiểu về tỷ lệ mắc và đặc điểm bệnh lây truyền qua thực phẩm trong 2 tuần theo dõi. Kết quả: Tỷ lệ chung mắc bệnh tiêu chảy cấp và tiêu chảy cấp do thực phẩm trong 2 tuần theo dõi lần lượt là 5% và 4,8%. Phần lớn (96%) trường hợp tiêu chảy là tiêu chảy cấp do thực phẩm. Phần lớn các trường hợp ngộ độc thực phẩm có tiêu chảy (70,6%). Các tình huống thường gặp với bệnh tiêu chảy cấp do thực phẩm là: thức ăn đường phố (87,5%), tiệc tùng (12,5%). Tất cả các trường hợp đều tự điều trị (100,0%) bằng thuốc (87,5%) hoặc tự khỏi (12,5%). Kết luận: Tỷ lệ mắc bệnh tiêu chảy ở sinh viên khá cao và phần lớn các trường hợp tiêu chảy là do thực phẩm. Phần lớn các trường hợp không đến cơ sở y tế để khám và điều trị mà tự điều trị bằng thuốc.

Abstract: Objectives: to determine the status of food-borne diseases in medical students during 2 weeks of follow-up. Subjects and Methods: a cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 500 fifth year students at Military Medical Academy to investigate the incidence and characteristics of food borne diseases during 2 weeks of follow-up. Results: The overall incidence of acute diarrhea and acute food-borne diarrhea during the two-week follow-up was 5% and 4.8%, respectively. The majority (96%) of cases of diarrhea were acute food-borne diarrhea. The majority of food poisoning cases had diarrhea (70.6%). Common situations with acute food-borne diarrhea were: street food (87.5%), party food (12.5%). All cases were self-treated (100.0%) with drugs (87.5%) or self-recovered (12.5%). Conclusion: The rate of diarrhea among students was quite high and the majority of diarrhea cases were caused by food. Most cases did not go to medical facilities for examination and treatment, but self-treated with drugs.
