Dinh dưỡng cho học sinh giai đoạn vị thành niên rất quan trọng, không chỉ ảnh hưởng đến sức khoẻ của lứa tuổi này mà còn ảnh hưởng tới tầm vóc thế hệ tương lai. Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang tiến hành năm 2020 trên 3.222 học sinh trung học phổ thông thuộc 3 huyện của tỉnh Sơn La, nhằm mô tả thực trạng dinh dưỡng đặc biệt là suy dinh dưỡng (SDD) thể thấp còi. Kết quả cho thấy, tỷ lệ SDD thấp còi ở học sinh trung học phổ thông là 15,6% ở ngưỡng trung bình có ý nghĩa sức khỏe cộng đồng; tỷ lệ SDD thấp còi ở học sinh dân tộc (H’mông, Mường, Xinh Mun) là 33,3%, dân tộc Thái là 17,3%; dân tộc Kinh là 10,0%; tỷ lệ SDD thấp còi cao hơn có sự khác biệt ở học sinh dân tộc, hoặc mức độ hoạt động thể lực thấp; hoặc học sinh hộ gia đình kinh tế nghèo và cận nghèo, trình độ học vấn mẹ thấp. Tỷ lệ SDD gầy còm là 5,2% trong đó dân tộc Kinh cao nhất (7,1%); tỷ lệ thừa cân, béo phì là 6,5%. Vì vậy, can thiệp cải thiện tình trạng dinh dưỡng cần trú trọng theo đối tượng dân tộc, kinh tế hộ gia đình khó khăn và đẩy mạnh hoạt động thể lực trong nhà trường.

Nutrition for students in adolescense is significant essential. It not only affects the health of this age group but also affects the stature of future generations. A cross - sectional study was conducted in 2020 on 3,222 high school students in 3 districts of Son La province to assess the nutritional status, especially stunting. The results showed that the prevalence of stunting was 15.6% at a moderate level of public health problems; the prevalence of stunting among students from ethnic minorities (H’mong, Muong, Xinh Mun) was 33.3%, including Thai ethnicity was 17.3%; Kinh ethnic group was 10.0%; The prevalence of stunting was higher among students with ethnicity, or low levels of physical activity, or students from poor and near-poor economic households, or with low maternal education. The underweight was 5.2%, while the Kinh ethnic group was the highest (7.1%); The prevelance of overweight and obesity was 6.5%. Therefore, interventions to improve nutritional status need to focus on both ethnic groups and households economic difficulties, as well as to promote physical activity in schools.
