A cross-sectional study on 300 mothers, who had normal delivery at the Obstetric Department of Hung Yen General Hospital and their newborns was carried out from October to December 2003. The findings showed that: Average birth weight and birth length were 3,090 grams and 49.5 centimeters, respectively.

In the period 1975-2000, trends were observed positive secular growth in height and weight in children, including infants and children age 1 to 15, reflecting the socio-economic status and Vietnam nutrition improved markedly after 20 years of innovation.

A cross-sectional description study was carried out to assess the capacity building for the implementation of the NNS.
A prospective study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition counseling and dietary management to stabilize blood glucose of 160 gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) patients after 2 weeks. The result showed that the efficiency of nutrition counseling after 2 weeks reached 80%.
