Mothers at marginal vitamin A deficiency during pregnancy were twice as likely to have risk of low breast milk vitamin A level at 2 weeks postpartum as mothers with normal vitamin A status during pregnancy (p < 0.05). Vitamin A levels of breast milk at 2 week after birth were linearly correlated with A reserves in the livers in first months of infant’s life.
